Headphone Trial At University. The Best.

Headphones tested on my fellow Drawing and Image Making Students.

This wasn’t supposed to be a test, but with most of the headphones being around the same (UK) price range, I thought it would be interesting to see which headphones they would take home. The headphone list includes:

Sennheiser HD650 - they all loved them

Headphone amp

Cmoy - Penguin Royal Amp - nice piece of kit!

Natalie

Natalie liked the Sennheiser HD650’s of course, and the Denon AH-D301. She also took a liking to the Grado iGrado’s. The Kam KHP 1500 headphones were a bit too heavy (weight) for her. Can’t remember what Natalie said about the AKG’s.

Jamie

Jamie loved the Kam KHP 1500 headphones, and spent most of his time with them. He said that he preferred the bass on his Sennheiser HD202, than the HD212. The AKG K518 were too heavy in the bass for him. Jamie didn’t think much of the Denon’s. But one surprise was that Jamie liked the Ultrasone iCans!

So How Was The Film?

So was Alien vs Predator Requiem, money well spent?

You can read my brief review on my feeling s about the latest Alien vs Predator film. But before you do, I just want to add that this was the first time I’d seen the film. I missed it when it came out in the cinema’s, just like I missed Rambo, so that’s another one for the DVD list.

I’d usually wait a few weeks until the price comes down, I don’t know if you do the same? however, this time I was desperate to see it. And the headphones, deep rumblings all the way through, even in the non action bits. Good film, with good headphones. Anyway here’s my Alien vs Predator Requiem review.

This Is Old Skool Heaven.

You when you hear a tune, that brings those memories flooding back? Well I don’t have any specific memories that link to Kicks Like A Mule’s ‘The Bouncer’ but it’s such a good old skool track that I just had to have it. Actually it reminds of the the raves back in the 90’s, Tall Trees nightclub and Berties nightclub in Newquay (from the images, Berties has changed since I was a young lad).

Sorry about all that, I was just musing over some possible future headphones. However the first pair of headphones or the next pair of portable headphones on my ‘to buy list’, are the Ultrasone HFI-15G headphones. They do look retro, like a pair of Grado’s, but they also look classy.
