Archive for the ‘International Deals’ Category
I’ve been looking for this shop for weeks. I saw it a while back and, but didn’t pay much attention to the deals on offer at the time. Now I’m looking at a pair of Denon AH-D1000 headphones for my birthday (care of my lovely wife) and so i got looking for deals again, especially those merchants that offer international shipping.
I’m still looking on the site for some good deals, but as for the Denon the deal is looking very good. not as good as the price offer on amazon, but i can’t get anyone to ship to the UK.
You don’t have the same tastes as me I’m sure, and when it comes to headphones, I’m a bit of a traditionalist. Full size headphones please, with big cups and cable thicker than an anchor rope.
But with the ipods and now mobile phones able to multi task, headphones these days are required to do the same. Home, office, on the bus, in the air, taking a phone call, playing Grand Theft Auto or watching X-Men, headphones must now cater for everything.
I’m not sure there’s a perfect solution, but nevertheless headphones designers have tried their best to keep up with the times. Unfortunately I haven’t.
My mobile cost me £15, I can’t take a photo with it, and I don’t really know how to use it. If I had a bluetooth mobile phone, or I wanted a lighter way to listen to my music, on the walk to uni, then these are the headphones I’d use.
1)Westone um1

I’ve had my eyes on these babies for a few weeks now, and I’m quite intrigued, far more than I am about any other IEM. When you buy from earphonesolutions.com, you’ll should be able to save some money, especially if you live in the UK like me (we pay too much for everything).
2) Sony DR-BT50 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones

I’ve got a few Sony suggestions today, and I’ll start with the Sony DR-BT50 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones. For the obvious reason that it’s a full size headphone, this is the main appeal.
3) Bose Triport IE
g(16584698)a(1341112))
Bar the Westones, the Bose Triport IE would probably be next on my ‘nearly’ list. I’m a great fan of the original Triports and in the earphone incarnation; they look a worthy prospect.
Audiophiles don’t approve, but that’s their problem. The argument is that you can buy better for the price, but I say it’s immaterial.
Instead of buying a Ferrari, I could buy a nice, reliable BMW, put a healthy deposit down on a nice house, and maybe go on a cruse, but is that better than having a Ferrari?
The only thing with Bose, is that except for buying used stuff from ebay, there are rarely any savings. The main saving would be on shipping. I’d still prefer to buy from Bose themselves.
Go on, be adventurous!
4) Sony DR-BT21G Bluetooth Headphones

I don’t want to make this a Sony fest, but let me finish with two Sony bluetooth headphones, as Sony seems to take them very seriously. Well it’ll compliment your Sony mobile phone.
Let me start with the only neckband headphones that would attract me, not because of the neckband, but as a bluetooth owner, these are stunning pair of headphones. Simple but purposeful design that makes a joke of the competition.
You need a pair of cool but serious bluetooth headphones, the DR-BT21G (say that three times really quickly) are the ones to have.
I would bow at your feet if I saw you with a pair of these!
5) Sony DR-BT30QB

Given my stats, these have been selling very well, but it doesn’t say whether those who brought them were Star Trek fans.
A very futuristic design if ever there was-one, but a fine design. As far as Sony bluetooth headphones go, I would, because I love Star Trek. I don’t think that they would work the same as they do in star trek, but with the technology in them, they’re not far off.
Final Thoughts
This 5 headphones might have been dominated by the Sony bluetooth headphones, but I think that’s it’s an ever growing niche market that needs to be taken seriously. I’m not going to enter the debate about sound quality, as these seem to be very functional headphones.
As for the Bose, you have my full blessing, and good luck to you! There might be a fitting factor (or not fitting comfortably factor) to them, but that’s nothing new for the IEM market I’m afraid, so choosing another brand might not be the solution.
For every good IEM review, I see a barrage of negative comments about fitting. but at least I’ve stated my two considerations.
good luck with all and any of your headphone purchases.
Until the next 5 headphones, happy headphoning.
Disclaimer: I’ve endeavored to find the best international prices, but with an international audience the prices in each country will vary.
I’m an affiliate for some of the merchants in this article, which means if you click through to a merchant website and buy, I receive a small commission. This can be anything from a small cash reward or a gift token.
This however has not affected my goal of trying to bring you what I feel is the best deal for you. I’d rather find you the cheapest deal, and gain your trust, than find you a more costly deal for the sake of a commission cheque!

Superb low price that you can’t ignore. usually these retail for around the $170 range, but if you hurry you can get over a third of that price.
As for my fellow headphone enthusiasts in the UK (and around the world), international shipping is available, which is my main reason for announcing this deal.
A deal to be missed? I don’t think so. The Westone UM1 is now a real affordable earphone solution.

The first headphonedeals competition has ended, but stay tuned to headphonedeals.org for more. And there will be a lot more in the near future!
Competition Closed
Simply suggest a pair of headphones around $100, and win a pair of Sennheiser PX100 headphones for yourself!
And here they are, ready and waiting for you!
Simply leave your suggestion in the ‘comments’ box at the bottom of this post
For those who are headphonedeals.com regulars, i’ve ordered the Stax SR-001 MKII System, my wife has put me on a 3 month headphone buying ban, boo hoo! But i have put a little money aside for one more pair of headphones.
So it’s your turn to choose Which one of these choices you’d like me to buy.
Now i’m going to limit the budget to $100 (US) or £50 (UK) and this is between you and me. Please don’t mention it to the wife. Actually she wants me to buy a pair of the Skullcandy Skullcrushers to review. Yeah right!
Please put forward any other suggestions that fall within the budget.
Rules for suggestions.
1) Try and keep within the $100 budget, including shipping if possible. I don’t want to spend too much on shipping.
2) Give a little explanation to back up your choice. Example: It could be that you’re thinking of buying these for your ipod.
It really is that simple. Just enter your suggestions in the ‘comment’ box at the end of this post
My suggestions;
1) Audio Technica ATH-A500 Art Headphones.
Why?
Because I can’t find another merchant that has these headphones at anywhere near the price that audiocubes has them. Also, I was most impressed with the Audio technica ATH-ON3 headphones, and if they’re anything to go by, then the ATH-A500 headphones I’m sure will be out of this world.

2) Audio-Technica ATH-ES5
Why?
Because there is a greater need for high quality portable headphones. Much as I want the ATH-A500’s, your not going to wear them around town that much, where as the ATH-ES5’s would be more suited for both home and away use.

3) Shure E2c Earphones (clear)
Why?
I did promise a while ago that these would be my next headphones, so I kind of owe it to those who are interesting in them.
Also I need to broaden my headphones collection just a little bit more and include a few IEM’s (In-Ear Monitors). Curiosity has also got a hold of me as well. They are one of the cheaper of my options.

4) XtremeMac FS1 Earphones
Why?
One of my more expensive options, maybe a little bit over budget, but curiosity once again has got me thinking about them.

5) Skullcandy Skullcrushers (white)
Why?
it’s my wives suggestion, so cut me some slack!

6) Grado igrado street style (white)
Why?
For you and no-one else. Yes, the headphones that I vowed never to buy, but if any of you want comparison test against the Sennheiser PX100 and 200, and maybe against the AKG K27i as well, then I’ll do it, I’ll buy them!

7) Ultrasone icans (white)
Why?
To add to my lonely Ultrasone Proline 750 headphones, because I think they’re the most stunning pair of headphones on the market, because I’d rather have them than the igrado.
They have been criticized for their performance, but I’m willing to give them a go for you. What a burden it would be to buy and review the icans for you……..not!

To make your suggestion…
….leave your suggestions in the ‘comments’ box below, with a brief reason why you’ve suggested the headphones, or earphones you have. It doesn’t have to be a suggestion from my list remember, it could be a pair that you’re interested in, but need an opinion on, before you hand over your cash.
Your choice and the reason behind it, will determine the winner.

Looking for small, portable headphones, with class leading clarity? Then these are the headphones of you.
Now available from ebay. Prices start at a mere $24.99 Funky little things aren’t they? I’m not sorry to say that it was the looks of the ATH-ON3’s that caught my attention. I also had an ulterior motive for buying them. You see I’ve known about audiocubes for a few years now, but I’d never plucked up the courage to order from them.
Living in the UK especially, you can see that there are massive savings to be had. Look at audiocubes from an international perspective, and they literally offer some of the cheapest prices on the planet. So the Audio Technica’s became a test run for future headphone purchases from auidocubes.com. And with these prices they’ll be many headphone purchases in the future, I assure you!
The Grand Unveiling

Size comparison with the Sennheiser PX200 (left) and the PX200 (right)
I didn’t really want to spend too much money, and I wanted a pair of headphones in/around the same price range of the Koss Porta pro’s or Sennheiser PX100’s. The ATH’s fits the bill very well, and they come with quite an original design, getting away from the folding headphone crowd. You might be forgiven for thinking that they look flimsy, in fact, they are very sturdy for such a slim design. The headband adjustment, was my particular concern when ordering these, but on testing them, the adjustment mechanism is quite firm and secure. The headband clicks through in what feel like notches inside the ear-cups. It’s quite an ingenious little sliding action really. Because the headband is little more than a piece of thick wire, it cuts down on weight. And because there are less moving parts, this lessens the chance of the headband breaking. Food for thought!
How do they sound?
They sound like one of, if not the best headphones I’ve had the pleasure of owning, that’s how good they are!
Now when it comes mid and treble, clarity and sound staging I have to say that they make the Koss porta pro’s, Sennheiser PX100’s and 200’s sound cluttered and muddy. It’s just such a crisp refreshing sound. I have honestly heard nothing like it before, and certainly not at this price.
There is a trade off though, and that’s in the bass department. However, you’ll get three helpings of stunningly, crisp performance. If the rest of the Audio Technica range sounds like this, then its bye, bye to the competition.
So what’s in it for you?
1) Unlike other manufacturers there’s no premium for the “ipod white” version, which makes a change.
2) Believe me, you won’t get a crisper sound from headphones costing nearly twice the price.
3) Light, original design (especially as these aren’t readily available in the UK), with good build quality.
Final Thoughts
You could buy the usual Sennheiser’s, but in terms of out and out clarity, you’d be missing out and out!
Available from ebay $24.99
With so much negativity surrounding the Bose Triport headphones, then you’re probably looking at alternatives?
This was a major problem, when I had my (original) Triport headphones. I tried the Sennheiser HD280 headphones, but as I explained before that the headband on them suffered the same fate as the Bose Triport.
At the time I didn’t know about Ultrasone headphones, but they are touch on the chunky side. Similarly the Beyers, although good, at the Triport price range, are also a bit on the bulky side.
But there is a serious and stylish alternative, that fits the bill, and it comes in the form of the Denon AH-D1000 On-Ear Headphones. Yes i’d like to get my hands on a pair!
Naturally, the cheapest price I can find for you! (international deals)

That’s another one on my ‘to buy’ list.
You ever thought about buying a pair of Stax headphones, but also thought you couldn’t afford it? Then think again, because the entry into THE finest headphone manufacturer on the planet, is well with your reach i’m sure!
Having just ordered the Stax SR-001 MKII Earphone System, I’ll soon be enjoying the electrostatic experience. So why not grab a pair yourself and join me? It won’t break your bank account, and you earn points, for any future headphone purchases, which I’m sure you’ll need, eventually.
I’ll update you when they arrive.
All the best.
Matt
New Additions
AKG K27i
Same conclusion as the Koss Porta’s, but with better, fuller sound. Far outclass the Sennheiser PX’s in terms of weight, but clarity is slightly lacking. Still think they’re brilliant value though.
Audio-Technica ATH-ON3 Casual Headphones
First-class stunning clarity that will take on headphones nearly twice the price. Build quality is better than they look.
Quick Headphone Reviews
?
This is a quick summary of the headphones that i’ve owned over the years. I’m sure I’ve left a few out, but I hope this will help you decide on your next purchase?
Grado SR60
An absolute must for your collection. In terms of clarity it’ll take on headphones costing nearly twice the price, no joking!
Grado SR125
Another brilliant headphone from one of the biggest names in the headphone industry. Very forgiving, whatever the source. But is it worth paying the extra over the SR60?
Sennheiser HD25-1
One of my all time favourite headphones. Sublime sound, and no headphone bridges the gap between home and portability better.
Sennheiser PMX60
The Sennheiser PX60 got my vote in one of the best-designed headphones. But, the vice like grip of the neckband design, mean long term listening could be a painful event.
Sennheiser PX200
It comes with the most stylish headphone case. Excellent sound and the closest rival seems to be from the PX200’s younger sibling, the PX100.
Sennheiser HD280 pro
great clarity, but I found the bass recessed. Far too heavy and cumbersome for my liking.
Sennheiser hd 212
I’ve yet to hear better from the competition. The heavy bass is not always welcome, but it’s nice to have it all the same.
Sennheiser PX 40
My first pair of Sennheiser headphones. These were the headphones that got me hooked. They open my ears to a different listening experience.
Bose Triport*
if you want trouble free build quality, then go for the Triport OE. I went through four pairs of Bose triports, because of a defective headband design. But I loved them nonetheless.
Ultrasone Proline 750 S-Logic headphones
one of my better choices. Deepest bass I’ve ever heard coupled with stunning clarity. These aren’t really intended for portable use. The best headphones I’ve owned.
ipod headphones*
not a bad complimentary pair of headphones. They’ll do until you decide what your next pair of headphones will be. Don’t leave it too long though!
Koss Porta pro
Not quite in the same league as the PX100/200, but the sound is slightly fuller, even if clarity is lacking.
* haven’t searched for lowest price

Audiocubes have finally brought out their points reward scheme so you can buy now, and cash in on purchases later.

So not content with offering some of the cheapest prices on the planet for certain headphones, they actually want to give you even more money off in the future. I can’t see a down side!

Unless my eyes are deceiving me, I think that audiocubes have just brought the price of the Denon AH-D2000 headphones down by $10.
As far as I can see, it represents a huge saving, regardless of where in the world you live.
I’ll take two pairs please!
$79 USD, it’s no joke, just the best deal I’ve seen this month. Actually, no other deal comes anywhere near as close.
Audiocubes have slashed the price for the amazing Audio-Technica ATH-A500 Art Headphones. I can’t find any merchant that comes close to that price.
Worth having a look? Well, unless you want to pay twice the price from another merchant, you bet it’s worth a look! How can you not even consider them? I am, and i’m on my way to odering the Stax SR-001 MK2 as well.
Let me put some perspective on this deal. The best price I’ve found in the UK is £82.99. You can get them delivered for £49.29 (exchange rate calculated 28/4/07).
And don’t think the deal only affects UK residence. After a brief search it would seem that regardless of where you live, you’ll make a saving.
What are you waiting for? Claim your bargain now!
Kohn, at audiocubes.com has let me know that a points reward scheme is on the way, so when you buy your supplementary headphones, you should be able to trade your points, for a bit of a saving.
I’ve been totally blown away from the performance of my little Audio Technica ATH-ON3 headphones. There is a trade off however, and that’s in the bass department. There simply is very little bass to speak of. With that said i much prefer them to anything i’ve got at a similar price, including the Sennheiser PX100 and Koss Porta pro.
The Audio Technica ATH-ON3 make both the Sennheiser and the Koss, sound like they were made back in the stone age.
But the details and sound staging are past first class, I have yet to hear better for headphones costing nearly twice the price. And the ATH-ON3 is a very good price.
The only consideration when ordering from audiocubes is of course the exchange rate, even taking that into account, the savings to be had are phenomenal.
