Badge snobbery at its worse.
Philips is just one of those names that many ‘enthusiasts’ wouldn’t even think about, and that included me until a few weeks ago. Visit Amazon.com or EBay and you’ll see the new line of Philips headphones selling for next to nothing, which indicates to me that they’re not selling. In the past I could have understood this. The pair that I tried in Prague were a joke. But now Philips are producing stunning, well-built headphones. I bought a pair of SHP5400, and they rock, quite literally.
Read the full Philips SHP5400 review here
I mean, these Philips SHL9500 (below) are going for an absolutely disgustingly low price. In the UK they’re 4-5 times the price. That’s in the Sennheiser PX200 territory. So for those of you in the U. S. (once again) you’ve got a bargain on your hands!
As I’ve written in my review, the neckband headphones destroy the Sennheiser at the same price. Don’t be a badge snob, give Philips a go. I did, and I have no regrets! But stay away from the old SHP2500 headphones, they suck!

Steve of Apex Jr. has sent news of a sale of some Alesis Switcher units. Those have been used by Alesis to demo their reverberation effect boxes. The Switcher has a stereo input via two RCA jacks, a front mono jack (good for a guitar player), and outputs to 4 TS jacks and two separate headphone amplifier outputs (two full-size jacks).

This could be a really useful piece of kit for a small studio; two people could listen to a mix through headphones, or, say, a keyboard player and a guitar player could jam together without using speakers.
More details in this forum thread; the Apex Jr. website doesn’t have this sale listed yet.

Sick and tired of fakes?
It’s sad that there are so many fakes flooding the market now. Every time I see a good bargain or deal, I can’t help but ask the question: are they real? Well, with a trusted merchant like earphonesolutions.com you don’t have to worry about all that nonsense. You know when you buy form them; you’re getting the real thing. Sure the prices might be at the regular retail price, but at the moment earphonesolutions are having a few coupon deals, so you can now save yourself a bit of money. It’s worth paying extra for the knowledge that what you’ve bought is the genuine and the sound you’re hearing is genuine.
Well, what are you waiting for?
These Klipsch Custom 1 Noise-Isolation Earphones are going for an absolute song. Whether you’re interested or not, click the image and just have a quick look at the price.

The RRP for these is $129.99, and they are
going for nearly half that. not even amazon can compete with this price saving.

AKG have redesignated their line of headphones, with K-24P becoming K-412P, K-26P K-414P, and K-27I K-416P.
The portable headphones have also lost their original colour schemes, repainted in dull greys.
But, luckily for those still craving the silver/black/yellow K-24P, they’re on sale from a few EBay stores, and for a good price too (it seems the release of “new” models by AKG has automatically discounted the “older’ twenty-series headphones).

K-24P are on sale from Rize Electronics and somewhat inapproriately named “Sony Items” EBay stores, each store selling them for US$17 (minus a few cents), plus shipping. And they ship worldwide. This is very cheap for headphones which are superior to AKG’s Germanic rival Sennheiser PX100. And a complete bargain for the kind of sound these small headphones can provide.
The K-24P is a direct competitor to Sennheiser PX100 and Koss Porta-Pro; it has a fuller, more lively sounding than the PX100 (the PX100 has that penchant for killing ambience and life in a record, making it sound like a combination of instruments rather than a musical performance), and more detailed than the Koss Porta-Pro. K-24P are foldable, just like the PX100 and Porta-Pro. A carry pouch is part of the package. Folded, they’re about the size of a small digital audio player (a bit smaller than folded sunglasses). Those are excellent small headphones with a cheerful, even bright, sound signature which were preferred to the K-240 Studio by some classical music lovers.

Generally regarded as superior to the PX100 and (especially) PX200 (which are quite a bit of shame to Sennheiser it seems), the K-27I are the closed counterpart to the K-24P. They certainly sound more muffled and more bassy than the K-24P (though that’s often considered a plus), but unlike the Sennheiser PX200, the K-27I also have an excellent seal and sound isolation. In an “inexpensive closed headphones” competition, the K-27I would win, together with Pioneer SE-MJ3B. They are also sold as the JBL 410 in the USA. K-27I are a modification of the K-26P with a built-in volume control (which although a potential source of distortion, some people like as it removes the need to reach for the player’s volume control).
Cheapest EBay price for the K-27I is $34, from Audio-Video Systems.
The New Denon AH-D501 Are On Order……
And they’re not speeding their way to me… blast. They’re going to Aenn for review… …lucky guy! So watch out for the new Denon AH-D501 review coming soon. Unfortunately I didn’t specify a colour, so although you see an image of a black pair, they might not be black, but they’ll still be Denon’s and that’s fine by us.

But the best thing, especially for us in the UK who are paying far too much for … …everything, we (my fellow countrymen and women) can now buy the new Denon headphones at a massive discount. Just click this Denon link and start saving!
$5 dollars more, in your pocket

www.soundearphones.com are fast becoming a regular feature on headphonedeals, and they’ve dropped the price of the new and most beloved Super.fi 4 range by $5. If only there were more merchants offering great deals like these! What more can I say? other than ….
“get your credit card out, and take advantage!”
iGrado For Over Double The U. S. Price
Anyone familiar with headphonedeals.org knows how enthusiastic we are about the Grado iGrado. Far better than the Sennheiser twins in every area. Far better, and more controlled bass, pin-sharp midrange, and a nice top end. However when I first saw this bid (click the link), I was fuming at why people were bidding so high.
After a quick bit of research on google.de, I quickly realized that on the continent, the RRP for the Grado is 78 euros. If You have a quick check on any currency converter, (today’s exchange rate) that’s equal to $115.519 or £58.467. Now, that’s expensive in anyone’s book!
So what can we do to help our fellow European headphone enthusiasts? So far, i’m not sure, because this is my first day on the case, but I’m going to try an find a price deal or a merchant that’ll ship to Europe, to try and get the cost down. I bought mine from www.iheadphones.co.uk for around £29.99, if my memory serves me right.
To anyone living on the European Continent, so far the best deal I can find is from iheadphones, and it’ll cost £42.98 including shipping, which is a saving of around £15.48 or just over 20.00 euros. It’s a start! I’ll keep onto it, but if you are having trouble getting what you think is a reasonable price, then contact us on the forum.
As for those bidding on these, I wish you the best of luck, they are fabulous headphones.

Good deal better!

Yes, there’s a good deal, for my new favorite Metro.fi 2’s (you can catch the review here). if you Live in the U.S. then amazon will be a good place to start, when looking for a pair of UE Metro.fi 2 earpones. For those of us not fortunate to be able to cash in on the amazon.com deals, there’s always ebay.
So no one has bid so far, and there’s a few days left. Most people go for the Super.fi range, and the baby Metro.fi’s usually don’t get a second look, which is fine. Less competition for bidders! Grab yourself a great deal now! I’d recommend them over the popular V-Moda Vibes…. you’ll readd t in the review, just buy them!
Click here and grab yourself a Metro.fi 2 deal!
Deal of the Day, Deal of the Year more like!
No biding, it’s a “buy it now” offer.
Get yourself along to the forum quickly because you do not want to miss out on this deal, especially of you live outside the U.S. That’s all I’m going to say.
Oh, and one more thing. If these aren’t gone in 48 hours (I thought I’d give you a head start) then my credit card is coming out!

There they are, at Sound Earphones, for $100 minus one cent.

Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 4. According to Sound Earphones, items will be shipped the same day if order placed before 4 PM EST. They also have a 30-day return policy.
Another Ultimate Ears deal for UK headphoners
Someone out there, really loves us at Headphonedeals
Over at AVForums, some poor person has just bought a pair of Skullcandy GI’s for £29.99 from play.com; not that there’s anything wrong with ordering from play.com, however I do have an issue with Skullcandy. Shame, because of the brand new Denon AH-D301 for around £25, which might be a wiser purchase.
The other suggestion is the Metro.fi 2 that are now going for under £30 at amazon.co.uk. That’s another good deal, but as I always say, get your money out quickly before the deal goes!
One pair was used for testing, the other pair has slight damage to the box, but neither reason is a bad thing. There’s no way I’d part with my metro.fi’s for less than £30.
Shure, This is a good deal!
For those of you looking for a good upgrade from those tragic standard earphones you got with your MP3 Players at Christmas, then the Shure SE110
Sound Isolating Earphones, are a good place to start. The Shure SE110’s are available from amazon.co.uk, which means you can opt for the free super saver delivery, nice!
As for me, I wanted an MP3 player for Christmas, but Mrs. Headphonedeals got me a wind up torch, and no it’s not a wind up (if you catch my drift). That’s O. K. because I only bought her a necklace from Tiffany’s!
Anyway, back to the Shure SE110’s. This is a ‘grab it while you can’ deal as prices tend to fluctuate.
Super.fi 4 and Super.fi 4 vi available from audiocubes people!
These are the ones to have.

It’s a matter of take your pick really, but it’s nice to see a good reliable merchant like audiocubes.com dealing with Ultimate Ears earphones. The prices may not make much sense to U.S. residents, but you try and find prices like these in the UK, impossible I say.The line up includes one of the most important headphones of 2007/2008, the Ultimate Ears Super.fi 4 and Super.fi 4 vi, for all you iphone owners, with the Super.fi 4 vi’s having an integrated microphone. The most attractive aspect of the Super.fi 4’s is that they are normal, screw them in your ear, earphones, unlike the rest of the Super.fi range, with the over ear wire support, or the wire ear cutters as I like call them.
I’m sure there are some great bargains at audiocubes at the moment, however, the Super.fi 4’s are the ones to have…..IMHO!
